Library 2.0: Library School Toolbar

The third group developed a toolbar for the Dominican GSLIS! Students, faculty and staff can download and install the toolbar for instant access to LIS resources. I have officially melted into a puddle on the floor.

A browser add-on

The GSLIS Toolbar is a browser add-on developed by LIS graduate students enrolled in Michael Stephens’ Fall 2007 Library 2.0 & Social Networking Technologies class at Dominican University. This group project challenged us to use open source software to plan and develop a working model of a Library 2.0 service or tool that could be implemented by a specific user group or type of library. We designed the GSLIS Toolbar to provide one-click access to useful resources on the Dominican University Web site and World Wide Web and establish a persistent University presence on Web browsers both on and off campus. The GSLIS Toolbar is optimized for Firefox and Internet Explorer.
